In June 15, 2016, CJFI celebrate its’ 18th founding anniversary starting with a motorcade around the city of Davao in the morning. The motorcade culminated at the new level 3 child care residential center of CJFI with a lunch joined by various partners both from the government, donors, and social welfare agencies in Davao Region. Partners who were first timer in the new center had felt astounded of the state of the art child care facility who they described as ‘world class’. None of any child care facilities in the Philippines can match its features and grandiose design.
Eighteen years ago, CJFI was established in Davao by Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy whose primary objective is to extend the needed care and protection for destitute children who are deprived of services which are due to them.
It’s been 18 years that Children’s Joy Foundation, Inc. has been existing. From only one child care residential center at the start, it blossomed to 6 child care facilities that catered the needs of marginal and less privilege children. Currently, its other child care facilities are located in strategic locations of the country in Calamba City (Laguna), Imus City (Cavite), City of San Fernando (Pampanga), Quezon City, and Cebu City. These centers have been reaching out and serving underserved destitute children.
For 18 years of existence, CJFI has touches thousands of lives of children through the 2 core programs, the Residential Based Support Program or RBSP, a 24 hour services for children living in child care residential centers which include food social case management services, homelife services which include food and shelter, medical and dental, education, skills development, sports/recreation, spiritual enrichment, and after care services. The other program is the Community Based Support Program or CBSP which is designed primarily for young children in depressed communities. It includes provision of day care center facilities, support for school supplies, supplemental feeding and computer education.
“I grew up with the Children’s Joy Foundation and my life was molded with the teachings of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy who founded CJFI 18 years ago. I was separated from my biological parents when I was young. In fact, I never had the chance to experience the life of a child with my parents guiding me. But I never regret because here in Children’s Joy, I felt the real love of a parent through Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy because he provided us everything we need. We are nurtured and guided by our Houseparent whom I considered as my real mother.” Said an emotionally Yna, one of CJFI’s beneficiaries in Davao City.
For 18 years, CJFI has significantly contributed to the national government and private sector specially in the social welfare agencies in providing opportunities to children and communities to make their little dreams come true by making child care facilities, programs and services available for them without cultural and religious discrimination to change course of their lives to become responsible and active contributing members in the society.
